We make places worth exploring.
Roamli started in Chicago with a simple idea: the best way to get to know a place is to play it. Today downtowns, nonprofits, campuses and companies use Roamli to send people out into their neighborhoods, and through the doors of the places that make them special.
Communities are built one visit at a time.
A new mural nobody has noticed. A coffee shop three blocks off the main drag. A library that incoming students walk past for a whole semester. Every place has more to it than people see, and most promotions (a brochure, a stamp card, a post that scrolls by) never get anyone off the couch to find out.
A game does. Give people a map, a few clever challenges, a friendly rivalry and a prize at the end, and they will cross town for it. They take photos, talk to shop owners, bring friends, and come back. We built Roamli to make that kind of day easy for any organization to put on.
When we first started Roamli, our mission was to find a way for local communities to connect through interactive experiences such as Scavenger Hunts, Walking Tours, and more… Connectivity is at the core of what Roamli delivers.
Three ideas behind every Roamli event.
Places need people.
Main streets, museums, campuses and small businesses all run on foot traffic. The organizations that support them need a way to bring people through, not just tell them what's there.
People need a reason.
Nobody walks ten blocks for a flyer. They will for a challenge, a leaderboard and a prize waiting at the counter. The reason has to be more fun than staying home.
Organizers need a partner.
Most of the people running these events are also running ten other things. So we give them a simple builder, and a team that will build the whole event with them when they need it.
A few events we've built.
Roamli has sent shoppers through a city's local businesses, walked visitors through a neighborhood's art and history, raised money for students, and turned Austin's landmarks into a photo hunt.
Cheering from the sidewalk.
We were on the ground for this event cheering teams on as they ran throughout the city, and it was amazing seeing the interactions between players.
That day, 104 challenges sent teams to businesses, murals and hidden corners of downtown Dayton, and two teams finished every one of them inside four hours. Days like that are why we keep refining the product, and the advice we give the next organizer.
What a good game can do.
A platform you can run yourself, and people who'll run it with you.
Hands-on or hands-off: run it yourself on a simple builder, or bring our team in for as much of it as you like.
Build it yourself
Use our builder to create, launch and monitor your event yourself. Add your challenges, set your start and end times, share one link, and you're live.
Ready-to-Go
We adapt one of our starting formats (holiday office hunt, downtown shop-local, orientation week, art walk) to your place and your people.
The Roamli Touch
Want our team to handle design, setup and launch? Or just some extra help and peace of mind? We design, build and run it with you.
Talk to the people who build it.
Roamli grew up in Chicago, the city where we were raised, and every event on it has made the product better. When you book a demo or send us a message, you reach the people who build the platform, not a ticket queue.
Bring us a place. We'll help you make it a game.
A 30-minute call. We'll sketch your first stops and challenges live, while you watch.
